Hurry: Give your 2014 donation by midnight!

Andrea,

There is still time! We need your donation now to meet our goal of raising $1 million for a cure. Diabetes has taken so much from me — my mother, my uncle, my aunt all died from diabetes complications. I give in their memory, and in honor of all of us who live now with this terrible disease. Before you celebrate the New Year, make a gift that will give hope to the nearly 30 million people with diabetes waiting for a cure. There are only A FEW HOURS LEFT. Please donate before midnight!

Happy, healthy New Year,
Patti LaBelle

Dear Andrea:

For me, diabetes is personal.

Give Hope for a Cure this Holiday Season - Donate NowI was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes nearly 20 years ago. You know how I found out? I collapsed on stage, in front of thousands of fans. I had just finished singing "Over the Rainbow."

When the doctor told me I had diabetes, I cried "No, no, no." I had hoped that it would not happen to me.

Before I was diagnosed, I was no stranger to diabetes. I watched my mom suffer with it and eventually lose both her legs. She died from diabetes complications at 58. It broke my heart to lose her so early. I have lost my grandmother, my uncle, and my aunt to this devastating disease. I don't want diabetes to steal one more life.

This holiday season, as you gather with friends and family, and remember and honor your loved ones, please consider making a gift that will help millions of people impacted by diabetes.

Your gift gives help and hope to parents, husbands, wives, children and entire families. This holiday season, give the best gift ever — hope for a better life and a cure for diabetes.

Isn't that what the season of giving is all about? Wouldn't it be beautiful if we could find a cure? Please make a gift now.

Happy Holidays,

Patti LaBelle

P.S. Your tax-deductible gift is urgently needed to help us meet our goal of raising $1 million to fight diabetes. Don't delay — please make a donation today.

P.P.S. Also, as a special thank-you from me, I'd like to share one of my favorite holiday recipes for Apple Crisp. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as my family does!
