Andrea,

My Daughter Had
Type 1 Diabetes

Audra and Dad

Honor your loved ones with a gift to advance critical diabetes research and the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation will match it.

DOUBLE MY GIFT

My daughter, Audra (that's her on the right) was only 7 when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Despite excellent care and our best efforts, her condition eventually caused her kidneys to fail. On her 26th birthday, I donated one of my kidneys to give her more time.

Audra passed away in 2012 at the age of 34.

I miss her every day. I still cry over losing her.

But I am determined to help others avoid the same loss—fathers like me who love their little girls, women like Audra who love their lives and their families.

Please help me honor her memory by making a tax-deductible gift to accelerate diabetes research.

To encourage friends like you to generously support diabetes research, my organization, the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, will match your gift, dollar for dollar, up to campaign total of $350,000 so that we can get twice the resources to researchers on the frontlines of diabetes research.

Audra is the reason I got involved. I am still thankful for the information and the support the American Diabetes Association offered us throughout Audra's struggle with diabetes. It was like a light in the dark.

I want to offer that same light to others who feel lost in the dark.

Please make a tax-deductible gift to help advance diabetes research and have it matched, dollar for dollar, doubling your impact.

Every dollar counts, so please give, any amount you can offer helps. Even if it does not seem like a lot, I assure you, your gift makes a difference.

I may have lost my daughter but I have found my purpose—I am dedicated to helping fund research programs and to finding a cure and better treatments so that others can be spared the ravages of this disease.

Please join me—donate today to take advantage of the limited-time matching-gift offer.

Thank you for helping me to honor Audra's memory this Father's Day. Knowing that others are working with me to save lives makes all the difference.

Sincerely,

George "Stoney" Pavlik
