| Dear Andrea, Every day, many people with diabetes struggle to afford the insulin they need. It is heartbreaking to know so many people must decide whether to pay for this lifesaving medication, or their rent or an electric bill. That’s why I’m energized by the American Diabetes Association’s campaign and petition to help make insulin affordable. Over 200,000 people have signed the petition. This is incredible, but we can’t stop now! We need at least 50,000 MORE petition signatures before advocates from around the country come to Washington D.C. at the end of this month. Here’s how you can help: 1. Haven’t signed the petition yet? Add your name at www.makeinsulinaffordable.org/petition/ 2. Spread the message by asking friends and family to sign the petition. Forward this email and share www.makeinsulinaffordable.org/petition/ on Facebook and Twitter. If you use insulin or care for someone who does, consider personalizing your email or social media message by saying why insulin affordability matters to you. Help us Raise Our Voice and say: insulin affordability is a matter of life or death. It must be addressed by Congress! Juanita A. Archer, M.D. Diabetes Advocate American Diabetes Association |
