Diabetes researchers are a diverse group – some are geneticists, some are endocrinologists, some are engineers… For some, fighting diabetes is very personal. And, there are two things they all have in common: - They have dedicated their careers to improving the health and saving the lives of people with and affected by diabetes.
- They rely on ADA's support to continue their research.
Every year, we receive 1,000+ promising research proposals, however, we can only fund a small fraction of them. We never know where the next breakthrough in science will arise, that's why it's critical that we support the exploration of as many good ideas as possible. Scientists are hard at work for you. Let's keep them working to turn their ideas into life-saving discoveries. Our goal is to raise $300,000 by April 30th, and with every donation, we are inching closer to this goal. Can we count on your support? Please make a tax-deductible gift. Every dollar will go towards diabetes research, and your impact will be DOUBLED by Amaranth Diabetes Foundation. Every dollar you donate will be MATCHED, so please don't wait, donate today. Thank you for helping to make millions of people's lives better. |
| How Your Support Helps When you donate to diabetes research, you support people like Dr. Mark A. Atkinson, PhD, who is leading research to understand if people with type 1 diabetes can still make insulin. Scientists have long thought that type 1 diabetes results after a complete destruction of insulin-producing cells. Dr. Atkinson's research suggests that there might be an alternate form of cells in people with type 1 diabetes. If we can understand how these cells work, we can then start looking for ways for someone's body to start producing its own supply of insulin again and potentially reverse type 1 diabetes. Help us support researchers such as Dr. Atkinson! |
| This special matching gift offer is brought to you by our campaign sponsor, Amaranth Diabetes Foundation. The Foundation has supported diabetes research and has been a loyal ADA partner since 1979. 100% of donations to this matching gift campaign will be directed to ADA-funded diabetes research. Donations or contributions to ADA's Tour de Cure®, Step Out or other special event fundraising does not qualify for this matching gift offer. |
