| Dear Andrea,
Our mission at the ADA is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. What might be less familiar is that the way we focus our work to accomplish this mission comes from you, our advocates and supporters. Today, we’re looking for your input to help guide our work in the year ahead – you can do this by telling us what matters most to you as a part of our Legislative & Regulatory Priorities survey. Taking the survey will only take a few minutes - this is your chance to help set our Advocacy priorities for 2019! Your voice matters! Thanks to amazing Diabetes Advocates like you, we’ve already had some major wins this year. Here are some of the strides we’ve made so far in 2018 for people affected by diabetes: - Raised voice on behalf of people with diabetes struggling to afford the skyrocketing cost of insulin. ADA released our Insulin Access and Affordability Working Group’s conclusions and recommendations and our Public Policy Statement: Improving Insulin Access and Affordability. We also testified before Congress.
- Increased federal funding for critical diabetes research and programs.
- Protected and improved health insurance in states across the country and advanced diabetes prevention and health disparities legislation and regulation to reduce the burden of diabetes in states.
As we look to 2019, we need a few minutes of your time to help us focus our efforts to best serve the diabetes community and achieve the greatest impact.
