MATCH: Double your impact to fight diabetes, Andrea. Give now (x2)

Exciting grant proposals will soon begin to pour in from scientists all over the country who are eager to open new frontiers in the fight against diabetes.

Each year, we receive hundreds of innovative research proposals – but we can afford to fund only a fraction of them. When it comes to research, it's important to explore as many good ideas as possible and that is why your support is so vital.

Right now, your gift can have TWICE the impact on diabetes research, Andrea.

The Kahlert Foundation – a leader in improving the quality of life and well-being in our communities – will match your gift to advance research, dollar-for-dollar, up to a campaign total of $50,000.

Supporting diabetes research is the single best investment you can make in creating a world free from diabetes and all its burdens.

Riera_210x210px.pngLast year, Dr. Celine Riera discovered a connection between the sense of smell and body weight in mice. Mice without a sense of smell were able to eat a western diet and remain thin while mice whose sense of smell was intact gained weight on the same diet!

If the same connection between sense of smell and metabolism exists in humans, these findings could lead to new weight-loss therapies to reduce people's risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

With the help from an American Diabetes Association grant, Dr. Riera was recently able set up her own research laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to continue and expand her research.

Andrea, will you please join us in supporting life-changing research projects like these?

Thank you again for making it possible to provide more resources to the researchers on the forefront of diabetes discoveries.
